PSG are reportedly interested in signing Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes, with a deal being explored this month.
The Brazilian international has been a revelation in the Premier League since leaving France for Tyneside two years ago, with Guimaraes influential to Newcastle’s rise under Eddie Howe and the PIF regime.
As a result, transfer interest is starting to build for the 26-year-old midfielder, with the likes of FC Barcelona and Liverpool all being linked with Guimaraes in recent months.

And now, according to Foot Mercato, PSG are weighing up a move for Guimaraes, with the reigning French champions keen to add a top-quality midfielder to their ranks this month.
Lauded as ‘magnificent’ by club legend Alan Shearer, PSG will likely have to match Guimaraes’ reported £105m release clause if they’re to stand with any chance of signing the midfielder.
And with the Ligue 1 side also playing a risky game with FFP, it is unlikely that PSG will pull the trigger on signing Guimaraes this month, with Newcastle also reluctant to sell.
Bruno Guimaraes to PSG could be a realistic summer transfer

Whilst PSG might struggle to sign Guimaraes this January, a move in the summer could be more than plausible for the European giants.
As we know, Newcastle are currently fighting a losing battle to return to the UEFA Champions League, with European football as a whole not a guarantee for the Magpies.
And for Guimaraes, a lack of continental football next season could convince the midfielder to return to France with PSG, who could be willing to pay the Newcastle star’s release clause.
Indeed, the Magpies will have to fight tooth and nail to keep hold of Guimaraes this summer, and qualifying for Europe could be the saving grace that keeps the Brazilian at St. James’ Park.
